American Finals Rodeo

THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 2010  and FRIDAY, AUGUST 20, 2010

7 to 9 p.m. each night

- TOP 20 IN EACH EVENT SHOULD ENTER.

- POINTS TO COUNT THROUGH AUGUST 28, 2010

- EVENT DIRECTORS WILL BE CALLING ALL CONTESTANTS TO SOLICIT THEIR VOTES FOR JUDGES, TIMERS, SECRETARY, AND ALL OTHER
YEAR END AWARDS. 

***IF YOUR PHONE NUMBER HAS BEEN CHANGED SINCE YOU PURCHASED YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD, PLEASE ADVISE THE OFFICE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

- ANY TOP 20 COMPETITOR NOT CALLING IN THEIR ENTRIES DURING THE LISTED TIMES, WILL BE INELIGLBLE TO COMPETE AT THE FINALS.  NO EXCUSES WILL BE ACCEPTED OR EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GIVEN.

    2010 Rule Changes

    Rodeo entries:  
       

    • Local entries: Proposal was made: A contestant may enter a rodeo as a local once per competition year.  Motion  was made and carried to reject this proposal.  The current rule stands: Contestants will be permitted to enter a rodeo as a local an unlimited number of times during each rodeo season. A $10 fee will be added for a local entry. This fee will be collected at time of entry. ALL LOCAL ENTRIES must be paid at time of entry using a credit card.

     

    • Stock Charge: A $5.00 stock charge will be added per entry. A team roping team considered as  one entry.  Motion passed.


    American Finals Rodeo (AFR)
        

    • All working personnel must have worked a minimum of three (3) APRA  sanctioned rodeos to be eligible for the AFR.  Motion passed.

     

    • A $200 turn out fine will be assessed for any turn-outs during the American Finals  Rodeo. This fine will be assessed per performance turned-out. The turn-out fine  will be waived for a visible injury or doctor’s release.   Motion passed.

     

    • A contestant must compete in every round at the finals to be eligible for the  average.  Motion passed.


    Judging Methods
        

    • Any rodeo official has the authority to injure-out a contestant with visible injuries.  This rule to be added to rule #1 on page 60 of the current rule book.  Motion  passed.

    The Buckin' Chute

    The APRA board has decided to be strictly online. There will no longer be a monthly Buckin' Chute publication. All information will be available online.  Check this section regularly for updates.
